Well us Sherpas are sitting under a train bridge in Sunching waiting for Dougie to come through on his 2nd lap. We saw him on his 1st lap at the end of the lake an he was looking good. Better than he did as he was leaving transition 1. Goggle marks never do anybody any favours.
We didn’t get off to a good start as locating the car was quite a challenge! None of us were paying attention when we parked in the dark at 5.30! Took us so long that we couldn’t make it to Sunching for Dougie’s first lap so stayed close to the lake for his first.

There was quite strict rules on no nudity on the course for the athletes but they didn’t say anything about supporters! The lack of toilets for us has necessitated some hovering behind bushes (with leaves!) and skips!

We are near an aid station and the local kids are having fun collecting lots of water bottles that are thrown away by the athletes. Will collect one or two for Dougie!

Weather update – Persistant rain but no wind and about 16 degrees. Good for Dougie, not pleasant for us but we will survive. He has no top on over his tri suit so don’t know how that will feel but makes it easier to spot him in his pirate suit!
